Volunteer Committees

Course Evacuation

This committee will be asked to drive the contestants and Rules Officials off of the course if an evacuation is required. Inclement weather is the most common reason for an evacuation.

Ecology

Members of the Ecology Committee will work in coordination with a contracted refuse company to help keep the site trash-free. Monitoring the timely clean up of trash receptacles and letter will be the only responsibility of this committee.

Information

Volunteers in this Committee staff the Information Booth; distribute information and answer questions about the Championship, Baltusrol Golf Club, Springfield and the surrounding area.

Medical Shuttle Team

Members of this committee will drive large passenger shuttles to and from different locations on the event grounds when a patron who is physically challenged requests assistance.

Merchandise Tent

Volunteers working in the Championship Golf Shop (an enormous merchandise tent) will assist in greeting guests, stocking inventory, bagging purchased goods and more.

Merchandise Tent Cashiers

Merchandise Tent Cashiers will be responsible for running cash registers during the event in the PGA Championship Golf Shop. Training will be provided with the user-friendly systems that are used to complete all transactions.

Office Volunteers

Over the next 16 months Volunteers in this Committee will assist PGA Staff with mailings, filing, answering telephones and other administrative tasks necessary to plan the Championship. VOLUNTEERS OF THIS COMMITTEE WILL BE ASKED TO WORK ON WEEKDAYS BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 8:00 A.M. AND 5:00 P.M.

Tech-Check

PGA Championship Security will ask all event spectators to leave their cellular telephones, pagers, coolers and other items not allowed on the golf course with the Tech-Check Committee upon entering the event.

Transportation

Volunteers in this Committee transport players to and from the golf course, airports and hotels during the Championship. Drivers inventory vehicles before the Championship. After the Championship the Committee collects the vehicles for pick-up by Cadillac.
