Ten years after winning the Qualifying School, Webster finally made his long awaited victory on The European Tour when he won the 2005 Telecom Italia Open. Credited magician Jamil Qureshi with helping him adopt a more positive approach to the game which led to his first title. Rose to prominence in the 1995 Open Golf Championship at St. Andrews, beating Gordon Sherry to the Amateur Medal after finishing tied 24th. Won 1995 European Tour Qualifying School but missed his first nine cuts in 1996 and had to return to the School, where he came fourth to regain his card. Began to realize potential in 1997, taking 63rd in the Order of Merit and three top five finishes in 1998 helped him climb further to 37th.
