CHICAGO, Ill. -- How do you view a golf tournament from the lap of luxury?
Corporations interested in finding out were invited to attend the "Taste of the PGA Championship" Oct. 4-6 at Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Ill.
Tournament organizers set up two sample corporate chalets outfitted with various designs of furniture, décor, and, of course, plasma screen TVs for corporate clients to check out, according to 2006 PGA Championship tournament director Michael Belot.
"The 'Taste of the PGA Championship' gives our corporate clientele and prospective clients an opportunity to see and touch the experience they and their customers can have at the 2006 PGA Championship at Medinah," Belot said. "It helps them appreciate the kind of corporate entertainment opportunities that are available at the PGA Championship at Medinah."
In addition, visitors were able to sample varieties of food that will be available to chalet customers during the tournament, which is set for the week of Aug. 14-20, 2006, Belot said.
Vendors from all over the country used the opportunity to show corporate event planners how their products might enhance the experience of guests who visit the chalets during tournament week. In addition to furniture, layout, dÈcor, video monitors and food, attendees also were able to check out hotels, transportation options and dual-logo merchandise.
