Slocum's father, Jack, is a PGA Life Member and head of the DP Tour, a Florida-based mini tour. Contracted ulcerative colitis in Nov. of 1997 and dropped from 150 to 122 pounds. Because of the illness, missed the next year and a half of golf. Three-time All-American for South Alabama, captured the Sun Belt Conference individual title to help the team capture the championship.
