TULSA, Okla. -- The PGA Championship and its historic Wanamaker Trophy return to Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa for the 89th PGA Championship, Aug. 6-12, 2007.

Tickets for the Season's Final Major went on sale Monday, June 5, 2006. PGA Championship ticket prices range from $30 for a daily Practice Round ticket to $415 for a coveted Wanamaker Club Ticket, good for all seven days of the Championship. Other packages include The Season Ticket, which allow access to the grounds for the entire week of the Championship, and Daily Tickets, which give its holder access for one specific day.

All tickets and packages may be reserved by going to the official Championship website at www.PGA2007.com or by calling the PGA Ticketing Center at 1-800-PGA-GOLF (742-4653).

Highlighting the field at the 89th PGA Championship, the last leg of golf's Grand Slam, will be two-time PGA Champion Tiger Woods, 2005 PGA Champion Phil Mickelson, and Retief Goosen, winner of the last major staged at Southern Hills, the 2001 U.S. Open.

The PGA Championship traditionally boasts golf's greatest international field and includes such stars as Vijay Singh, Ernie Els, Mike Weir and Sergio Garcia, to name a few. The PGA Championship also features more top 100 world-ranked players than any golf major.

The 89th PGA Championship at Southern Hills Country Club will mark the fifth time in 37 years that the event has been played in Oklahoma. It was last conducted at Southern Hills in 1994, where Nick Price captured his second PGA championship in three years.

Dave Stockton won his first of two PGA titles during the 52nd PGA Championship at Southern Hills in 1970. Two-time Champion Ray Floyd started off in record fashion in 1982, winning his second Wanamaker Trophy with a course-record 7-under-par 63, which remains as the best round ever played at Southern Hills.

Oklahoma also hosted the 70th PGA Championship at Edmond's OakTree Golf Club in 1988, with Jeff Sluman winning his first major in dramatic fashion. In 1935, the 18th PGA Championship was hosted by Twin Hills Country Club in Oklahoma City, where Johnny Revolta triumphed in match play.

"2007 will be an exciting year for Oklahoma as we celebrate the state's Centennial," said Al Bush, general chairman of the 89th PGA Championship. "The PGA Championship has enjoyed a great reputation and tradition in our state during those 100 years. Southern Hills is excited to show off the upgrades we have made to our course and to the facilities since our last Championship."

During its 70-year history, Southern Hills Country Club has hosted 13 national golf championships, including three PGA Championships, three U.S. Open Championships, one U.S. Amateur Championship, One Senior Amateur Championship, one Junior Amateur Championship, one Women's Amateur Championship, one Women's Mid Amateur and two PGA Tour Championships.

Southern Hills is scheduled to host the 2010 U.S. Amateur Championship.

Tickets for the 89th PGA Championship will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis to a limited number of spectators. For ticket information, call 1-800-PGA-GOLF, or access the tournament website at www.PGA2007.com.

For more information on the event, including remaining on-site hospitality packages, contact the local 89th PGA Championship office at 918-742-2007.

"We expect an early sell-out," said Bush. "Oklahomans really know their golf, and they remember that tickets to championships at Southern Hills are very hard to come by. We encourage everyone to buy their tickets well in advance."

The PGA Championship is one of four premier golf events conducted by The PGA of America. Others include the Ryder Cup, the Senior PGA Championship and the PGA Grand Slam of Golf, which brings together winners of golf's four major championships.

Celebrating its 90th anniversary, The PGA of America was founded in 1916, and is a not-for-profit organization that promotes the game of golf while continuing to enhance the standards of the profession. The Association is comprised of more than 28,000 men and women PGA Professionals who are dedicated to growing participation in the game of golf.
