The 1986 PGA Player-of-the-Year, Tway won four times, including that year?s PGA Championship at Inverness, when he holed a greenside bunker shot to defeat Greg Norman, and finished the year second on the PGA Tour money list with $652,780. . . For the next four years he stayed in the top 50 of the money list, but a slide started in ?91. He finished 52nd in ?91 and the next year dropped to 179th. . . After another poor year in 1994, Tway came back the following year to record his best year financially. He won his first event in five years, an emotional playoff victory at the MCI Classic. . .Three-time All-American at Oklahoma State and member of two national championship teams in 1978 and ?80.
