The talented Swede made a brilliant start to 2007 with two victories in February - first at the Dubai Desert Classic and then, capturing the most significant title of his career to date at the World Golf Championships - Accenture Match Play, where he beat 2006 US Open winner and defending champion Geoff Ogilvy 2&1 in the 36 hole final. Registered two victories on the 2006 European Tour and made a successful debut in the 2006 Ryder Cup at The K Club, where he secured the winning point. . .A family friend introduced him to the game and he got down to scratch at the age of 18.
