Player Notes

A second European Tour title may have eluded him during 2007 but it was still his best season as he broke into the top 20 on the Order of Merit for the first time, helped by his joint runners-up finish in the Volvo Masters where he lost out in a play-off to Order of Merit winner Justin Rose. Has a reputation as a gritty competitor, that aspect was never truer than in his rookie year of 1998 when he faced a battle to keep his card as the season drew to a close. But the diminutive Dane stood tall and showed immense courage to earn ?15,565 (?11,118) for tied 12th in the British Masters which proved sufficient to retain his card in 115th place on the Order of Merit. Has been a consistent performer every year since then, finishing no worse than 67th and claiming his first European Tour title at Gleneagles in 2003. Represented Denmark in the Eisenhower Trophy as an amateur before he qualified for The European Tour through the Challenge Tour in 1997. That year he also tested his stamina in another way by attempting to run a marathon and he achieved a highly respectable time of three hours and 54 minutes. Has not run one since, saying: "Once was enough for me, I try to stay in good shape but not as extreme as that."
