Co-recipient with Ricky Barnes of 2003 Ben Hogan Award and also won the Jack Nicklaus Award and Fred Haskins Award as top collegiate golfer in the 2003 season. . .Ranked No. 1 Amateur in the Golfweek/Sagarin Ratings in 2003. Made the cut and finished 28th at the Masters. Turned professional in 2003 after missing the cut at the U.S. Open, and made four cuts in seven starts. Runner-up to Ricky Barnes at the 2002 U.S. Amateur and placed third at the 2002 NCAA Championships. Two-time member of the U.S. Palmer Cup team. Two-time first-team All-American at OSU. Two-time Big 12 Player of the Year (2002-03). Began collegiate career at Southern California before transferring to OSU after earning second-team All-American honors, as well as Pac-10 Freshman of the Year in 2001.
