Produced the highlight of his career in 2008 with victory in his national open championship, the SAS Masters, at Arlandastad Golf in Stockholm, the first Swede to win the event in ten years. No victories as yet in 2009 but maintained his high level of consistency and achieved some great results in some of the Tour’s richest events to break through the (euro)1 million earnings barrier for the second time in his career. His tied ninth finish in the Dubai World Championship presented by: DP World moved him to 16th in the Race to Dubai, just outside the bonus pool. Secured his maiden European Tour title when he defeated compatriot Peter Gustafsson in a play-off for the 2005 Open de España en Andalucia at San Roque Club and came close to repeating that success in 2007 with seven top ten finishes on his way to breaking into the top 20 on the Order of Merit for the first time. Initially earned his place on The European Tour through the 2000 Qualifying School - Final Stage and then through the Challenge Tour Rankings in 2001, when, having failed to qualify for The Open Championship, he travelled to Germany and promptly won the Günter Hamburg Classics, the richest event of the year on the Challenge Tour, to guarantee himself a place in the top 15 on the Rankings. While he lost his card again at the end of the 2002 season, bounced back again through the Challenge Tour the following year and has since become firmly established as one of Sweden’s top golfers. An impressive amateur career was rounded off by winning the Brabazon Trophy at Formby in 1998 and representing Sweden in the Eisenhower Trophy that same year. Coached by Jan Larsson, the professional at Bokskogen, where he was first introduced to the game by neighbors.
