Competed at the 2009 Palmer Cup. Advanced to the third round of the 2008 North and South Amateur at Pinehurst… Qualified for the 2007 U.S. Amateur (lost in first round of match play)… Runner-up at the 2007 Pacific Coast Amateur. Won two matches at the 2005 U.S. Junior Amateur… Tied for third at the 2009 NCAA Central Regional. Posted T-8 and T-9, respectively, at 2006 and 2008 NCAA Division I Championships. First Georgia Tech freshman to win the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship title (2006), with alums that include David Duval, Matt Kuchar, Bryce Molder and Nicholas Thompson. Named first-team All-American for 2008-09 season; second-team All-American in 2007. Finished college career with four titles. Named the 2006 ACC Freshman of the Year. Turned pro after playing in the 2009 Walker Cup, got his PGA Tour card for 2010 by finishing T-19 at PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament. Lost his card after finishing 179th on money list but regained it for 2011 by finishing T4th at the Qualifying tournament.
