2012 PGA Championship Interview Transcript -- Carl Pettersson

CARL PETTERSSON:  Obviously we restarted our round on the 9th hole, and I felt that was important to make par there.  It's a tough hole, and I managed to do that well, and then played pretty solid coming in on the back nine.  I made a pretty bad bogey on 13.  I hit driver off the tee.  I know it's a difficult hole, but I only had a little 7 iron in, and I thought that was a poor bogey.

But then I made back with a nice birdie on 16 and made a nice up and down on 18.  Overall I'm happy.

Q.  Was it an advantage or disadvantage coming back this morning?

CARL PETTERSSON:  I think it was an advantage.  The wind was very light.  Yeah, I think it was an advantage.  I didn't really take advantage of it shooting even par, but it's definitely easier this morning than it was yesterday.

Q.  Being in position in second place, can you talk about that?

CARL PETTERSSON:  Yeah, obviously it's new territory for me, but I look forward to it.  I feel pretty calm out there, and it's a long way to go still, but it's nice to be in there with a chance for sure.

Q.  No one has held the 54 hole lead in a major and won this year.  Does that weigh on your mind?

CARL PETTERSSON:  Not really.  Still 18 holes of golf on a very challenging golf course.  Anything can happen, I've just got to play my game and see what happens.
