May 6, 2011: Williams-Korea signs 24 KPGA members to its professional staff
LONDON -- Williams Sports, powered by Williams Formula 1 Team Technology, has announced that 25 Korean PGA members, including several tour players, have signed an annual contract to play and promote Williams golf equipment in Korea. Over the next year, Williams pro staff members will participate in promotional events, tournaments and instructional seminars to promote the full line of Williams equipment to golfers at both golf course and off-course retail locations throughout Korea.
Williams has incorporated some unique aerodynamic design features from Formula 1 racing into its golf clubs. Three key aerodynamic aspects that manage airflow and reduce drag have been directly engineered into the shape of the FW32 driver, fairway woods and hybrids.
The three key aerodynamic aspects are the Trip, Winglets and Diffuser. The Trip redirects airflow over the driver's crown to minimize the surface area affected by airflow contact, which is important in reducing drag. The Winglets manage and control the air flowing around the heel and toe, creating a more consistent and stable path throughout the downswing and impact. The Diffuser is a key component in diffusing and controlling the air that flows across the soleplate, combining with the Trip to minimize the wake and density of airflow off the rear of the driver for a significant reduction in drag.
A Williams FW32 Players Series Driver was used recently to send a golf ball 404 yards to win the L-1 Grand Prix Long Drive Championship in Okinawa, Japan, and the winner attributed his success to the superior aerodynamics of this Formula 1-inspired club.

"His recognition of our great products and desire to win clearly matches with our goals. We look forward to many years with J.B. and what we expect will be plenty of winning with Callaway."
Holmes’ two victories on the PGA Tour both came in front of the raucous crowds of Scottsdale's FBR Open (now the Waste Management Phoenix Open). In 2006, his rookie season, Holmes won by seven shots in just his fifth professional start. He won the same event in 2008, making a birdie on the first playoff hole to beat Phil Mickelson. His ability to perform under pressure suited him well as a member of the 2008 Ryder Cup team, when he earned 2 1/2 points for a victorious U.S. team at Valhalla in his home state of Kentucky.
January 24, 2011: Ochoa to serve as global representative for Ping
Ping has re-signed Lorena Ochoa to continue their long-term relationship as a global representative for the equipment manufacturer, company officials have announced. Since retiring from the LPGA Tour last April as the world's No. 1 female golfer, her golf-related focus has been on the Lorena Ochoa Foundation, the Ochoa Golf Academies, and the Lorena Ochoa Invitational LPGA tournament in her hometown of Guadalajara, Mexico.
"Lorena means so much to the game of golf, but she means even more to underprivileged children in her native Mexico," said Ping Chairman and CEO John Solheim. "She is the symbol of class and grace and she gives hope to so many, not just by generating money but with her leadership. Lorena is a source of inspiration by doing what she set out to do after she retired -- to improve lives and bring golf to non-traditional areas both in Mexico and the U.S. Those are ideals that Ping shares."
Ping actively supports Ochoa's many causes and has maintained a close connection with the star since officially signing her to an endorsement agreement in 2007, though Ochoa has relied on Ping equipment since her teens. For decades, Ping has been an ardent advocate for women's golf, is the founding sponsor of the Solheim Cup, and is one of the most-played equipment brands on the LPGA Tour.

While Howell's most recent Tour victory came in 2007 at the Nissan Open, his consistency is his calling card, once again on display in 2010, registering 6 top-10 and 11 top-25 finishes.
"While I'm always happy to be consistent in finishing high up the leader board, I believe my best golf is still ahead of me," said Howell. NORCROSS, Ga. -- Mizuno USA, Inc., has announced the extension of its long-standing equipment partnership with Jonathan Byrd, agreeing to a multi-year contract extension with the now five-time PGA Tour winner. The announcement comes in the wake of Byrd's victory at the 2011 season-opening Hyundai Tournament of Champions at Kapalua Resort in Maui, Hawaii. Byrd has been with Mizuno since 2006 and will continue to play Mizuno equipment, use the Mizuno staff bag, and sport the company's headwear.
Byrd, one of the Tour's most consistent iron players, entered the 2011 season with a dramatic victory over Robert Garrigus on the 2nd playoff hole at Kapalua in the season-opening event that annually pits the PGA Tour's 2010 tournament winners against each other. The victory leaves no doubt that Byrd is building on his strong 2010 PGA Tour finish, where he posted three top-10 finishes in his last seven starts. His successful finish in 2010 was capped off in grand fashion at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas. Using his Mizuno MP 6-iron, Byrd registered the PGA Tour's first-ever playoff hole-in-one to secure the victory.
"We are truly excited to continue our affiliation with Jonathan Byrd, an exciting player and rising star on the Tour, whose performance and steadfast work ethic truly embody that quality and performance that Mizuno is all about," said Dick Lyons, vice president and general manager of the golf division, Mizuno USA. "His victory this weekend at Kapalua and incredible finish in 2010, including the historic hole-in-one, exemplify Byrd's continued rise as one of the Tour's bright young players and a brand ambassador in which Mizuno can take great pride."
Byrd has previously recorded victories at the Buick Challenge, B.C. Open, and John Deere Classic. Throughout 2010, Byrd's elite iron play was on display, ranking in the top 20 of greens in regulation using Mizuno's line of Grain Flow Forged MP Irons.
"This weekend's victory and last season's strong finish are examples that hard work and dedication can truly pay off," said Byrd. "Based on my personal commitment to improve every facet of my game, and backed by Mizuno's commitment to producing the highest quality irons in golf, I'm confident I have the tools necessary to elevate my game even further heading into the 2011 season."

"I learned that they have industry-leading products and really creative marketing, two things that really piqued my interest. With the B330-S, I'm getting more distance out of my driver and long irons and I feel very ready to compete in 2011.
"I'm really excited to be part of a brand that has the momentum of Bridgestone," Love continued."To rise from a virtual unknown to the #2 golf ball in the industry in just six years is amazing. I've been paying attention to what they've been doing over the past few years and I really respect their efforts to educate consumers on how to find the proper ball for their game, and their ads are some of the most fun I've seen. I look forward to showing the world a bit more of my personality in the 2011 ads. There is even one spot where I get to ride my bike. Motorcycle riding is right up there with hunting and fishing as my favorite things to do off the course, so that's pretty cool. I couldn't be more pumped about being on the Bridgestone team."

A 16-time PGA Tour winner, Furyk is coming off a career year that included victories at the Transitions Championship, Verizon Heritage, and the season-ending Tour Championship. Furyk's widespread success culminated with PGA Tour's ultimate prize when he captured the 2010 FedExCup Championship at East Lake last September.
"I'm thrilled to be joining TaylorMade-adidas Golf Tour Staff," said Furyk. "From the innovation they continue to bring to golf equipment to the passion and expertise of their tour reps, it's no secret that TaylorMade-adidas Golf is committed to helping their players improve."
Furyk has worn adidas Golf footwear since 2006, however, he'll be playing the TaylorMade Penta TP for the first time. The first and only five-layer Tour ball, Penta TP was used in 18 worldwide victories last year including the 2010 PGA Championship. He will also be playing a TaylorMade driver.
"In all the years that I have been working with Tour players, Jim is one of the most technical guys I have ever encountered," said Dean Snell, TaylorMade's senior director of research and development for golf ball. "He quickly grasped the concept and benefits of Penta TP's five-layer construction. In his testing, he found that his long-irons stayed in the air longer to give him increased carry and distance, as opposed to 'falling out of the sky' too soon. He also found that he could fully control and manipulate the spin on his wedge shots inside 100 yards, which he feels will help him win in 2011."
January 6, 2011: Villegas joins TaylorMade-adidas Golf Company's 2011 Tour Staff

"I am thrilled to join the TaylorMade-adidas Golf Tour Staff and look forward to representing a very unique and exciting Burner brand," Villegas said. Villegas also qualified for The Tour Championship after finishing 20th in the FedExCup standings. For the season, he earned more than $3 million and finished 16th on the money list.
Villegas' charisma and aggressive style of play made him an instant sensation when he joined the PGA Tour in 2006. He is well known to golf fans for his efficient swing and seemingly effortless power, as well as the signature "Spiderman crouch" he assumes when reading putts, which prompted fans from his home town to nickname him "Hombre Arana." His popularity has also attracted plenty of attention off the golf course, where he has been featured in GQ Magazine and named one of People Magazine's "hottest bachelors" in 2006.
"We sought Camilo as our first and only choice to become the new face of our legendary Burner product line," said Bob Maggiore, vice president of global brand and product marketing. "We wanted a player whose lifestyle aligned with our fast, furious Burner product messaging and possessed the charisma to capture a global audience. Camilo brings both of those qualities to TaylorMade and his passion and enthusiasm for the brand is arresting."
Villegas is one of the latest players to switch into the Penta TP golf ball, the first and only five-layer Tour ball, which was used in 18 worldwide victories last year including the 2010 PGA Championship. Born January 7, 1982, Villegas will play a No. 7 Penta TP to honor his birthday.

"He has proven year-in and year-out that he's capable of competing and winning at the game's highest level, and we couldn't imagine adding a better ambassador to our Tour Staff."
