Course:
I fell in love with the game of golf during gym class as a high school junior at Patapsco High School in Dunalk, Md. Who knew that by hitting wiffle golf balls with beat-up old clubs, I would launch myself into a career in sports.
When I got the chance to see the 1975 Ryder Cup in person at Laurel Valley in Pennsylvania, I realized I couldn't compete at that level and decided there was probably better ways to use my skills. The biggest break I ever got was in 1979, when I was hired at Hillendale.
I was elected to PGA of America membership in 1981.
