Dan attended Westminster College and became a PGA Member is 1975. He was a Head Golf Professional for five years, a General Manager and Director of Golf for 13 years at Rockefeller Resorts, The Highlands CC, The PGA Tour, and a Teaching Professional for 15 years at Capital City Club in Atlanta.
