Golf has been a life-long passion for me since the age of 7. First job at age 14 was washing clubs and parking golf carts, and went on to work in the pro shop and on the grounds crew. A competitive junior player (back before the ajga!) and played college golf at Stanford University. Built and sold a garment company and that allowed me a little time to go back to Stanford as the JV/Assistant Coach - one of his favorite all time jobs. Continuted to compete as an amateur until 2003, when fate introduced me to a custom club maker who happened to also have a long drive team. Won the local qualifier, then the districts, and ultimately went on to win the World Long Drive Championship. It was one of the best days of his life, because while he was on the tee he proposed to his (then) girlfriend Maureen, in front of a national ESPN TV audience! That win marked his entry into the professional golf ranks, and went on to be an instructor, then Director of Instruction, then Founder of own Golf Academy - The Seaver Golf Academy. Feel fortunate to be able to be doing something that he loves and also something at which he excels. When I won the World Long Drive Championship I had some help. I listend to some audio tapes of a sport psychologist. What I learned enabled me to stay focused and even perform at my best under the intense pressure of the competition. I was so intrigued by sport psychology that I immediately enrolled in a class to learn more. 3 years later I had a Masters Degree in Sport Psychology. Now I am able to blend all my experience - competitive golf, sport psychology, and my PGA PGM swing instruction to provide what I truly believe is the best possible instruction for my students. This unique combination enabled me to create innovative programs and a novel approach that I hope to share with future golf professionals.
