John has been a PGA member since 1986. He graduated from Ferris State University in 1984 with a B.S. in Marketing and Professional Golf Management Option. He was a seasonal assistant golf professional at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Florida from 1984-1988 and a seasonal assistant at Eagle Ridge Resort in Galena, Illinois from 1984-1987. In 1988 he became the Director of Golf at Eagle Ridge in Galena, IL and maintained the position until 1999. He was reponsible for 63-holes of golf (four courses) and four clubhouses. During his tenure he was involved in opening the 9-hole East Course and The General Golf Course. Also during his tenure the resort received numerous accolades from Golf Magazine and Golf Digest golf resort rankings. After leaving Eagle Ridge amidst the second buy-out of the property he worked for EAGLE golf management and was the GM at River Hills CC in Valrico, Florida from 1999 to 2002. He left for his present position. From 2002 to present he is the General Manager at Prairie Landing Golf Club in West Chicago, Illinois, which is in the western suburbs of Chicago. Prairie Landing is an upscale, 18-hole, Robert Trent Jones Jr. public golf course, premier practice center, clubhouse, restaurant and banquet facility. Prairie Landing opened in 1994 and during his tenure as GM recieved a 4 1/2 Star rating by Golf Digest "Best Places to Play". In 2009 the Zagat-6th Edition rated the Prairie Landing Golf Course "extraordinary".
