After playing college golf for the University of Kentucky, I started my professional carreer in 1994 at Palo Alto Golf Club in California. I was taught the core skills of being a professional under the direction of PGA Director of Golf, Brad Lozares.
In 2002, I decided to move to the east coast and had the privilege to work for PGA Head Professional, Rob McNamara at Farmington Country Club in Charlottesville, VA. I spent nine years at FCC working with members and staff to enhance my skills as a professional.
In 2012, I accepted the position as Director of Instruction and Director of the Robins Junior Programs. Little did I know how much this new position would change my life. Working with over 3,000 children per season and mentoring 24 PGA PGM Interns from numerous universities has been a blessing.
I started Get Golf Ready programs in the spring and fall for adults. In 2013, Independence participated in the PGA Junior Golf League where 20 top juniors participated.
In closing, I enjoy golf, more importantly I love coaching and mentoring players and staff on how to golf and learn the life lessons that golf teaches us. There is no "correct" age to start. It is your blank canvas and I enjoy watching each and every day masterpieces being made. I love this game and what it has given me as a professional, a parent and a person.
