Michael is a native Coloradoan and has been in the golf business since he graduated from High School in 1995. He played Basketball and baseball growing up and started playing golf as a sophomore in High School. Michael was "bit by the golf bug," right from the beginning. He was attracted to the social aspects of the game as well. No one else in his family played at the time so he would walk on and play as a single. This afforded him the opportunity to meet new people. He was a shy 16 year old who instanlty became more outgoing. eventually he started playing on the Varsity golf team as a Junior and improved rapidly. Michael then started working at a nine hole municipal in town. He started by picking the range and washing carts but his work ethic gave him the opportunity to work in the golf shop. After three years at Lincoln Park G.C. he moved to Bookcliff Country Club where he was introduced to a whole new golf world. Michael loved the private atmosphere from the first time he set foot at the club. He started in outside services and quickly developed a strong rapport with all aspects of the membership. Within a year he was working in the Golf Shop as a shop assistant. While this was happening he graduated Cum Laude from Mesa State College with a B.A. in History. Michael decided golf was the career that he wanted and placed his players ability test in 2001. Michael became the assistant golf professional shortly after. He received the Assistant golf professional of the year in 2001 in the West Chapter of the Colorado Section. In 2004 his Head Golf Professional left to pursue another career & he was awarded the head professional position prior to recieving his membership with the PGA. Michael feels this was attributed to his customer service and ability to get along with all facets of the membership. Michael received his membership with the PGA in February of 2008 and he is still employed as the Head Golf Professional at Bookcliff Country Club.
