Nyles A Smith

After his father convinced him to leave the tennis court long enough, Nyles was introduced to golf as a young teen at Langston Golf Course. He played competively as a junior, then as an adult while in the Army and on various local tours. His career as a Golf Professional began in the late ninties working at various golf courses and driving ranges throughout the D.C area. In 1999, he joined The United States Golf Teachers Federation. Nyles began working at The Capital City Golf School at East Potomac Golf Course in 2003 as a Professional Golf Instructor. Soon, he was elevated to the position of Director of Instruction of The Capital City Golf School at Langston Golf Course, as well as Head Golf Professional of Langston in 2005, which are his current positions. In 2007, he began working as a Professional Golf Coach/Instructor with The First Tee of D.C. at both Langston and East Potomac locations. Nyles conducts Winter Indoor Golf Classes, Clinics, and Private Lessons at The Unity Church in N.W. Washington, D.C. He continuously evolves professionally by attending numerous training and coaching seminars throughout the year. He is a proud member of the National Capital Optimist Club, who sponsors The Optimist Golf Tournament at Langson Golf Course. As part of the rich History of Langston Golf Course, he is always reaching out to the golfing community to welcome and share Langston with others. Nyles enjoys serving everyone and appreciate the opportunity to share passion, enthusiasm, and expertise of the game with all levels of players.
