Rick Heard has been a PGA member since 2002, following a successful competitive amateur career. His amateur highlights include winning the Florida Junior PGA Championship, playing on the University of Florida Golf Team, winning three Palm Beach County Amateur Golf Association titles, and finishing 5th in the Florida State Amateur Championship. In PGA school, he finished the PGA program in record time, finishing 1st in his class in all three PGA school levels in 2001. Currently President of the Southeast Chapter PGA, his credentials also include serving as the Junior Golf Chairman and Tournament Chairman for the Southeast Chapter of the PGA, and the Membership Chairman and Section Golf Days Chairman for the South Florida section of the PGA. He was awarded the Southeast Chapter PGA Junior Golf Leader award for 2002 and the Horton Smith Award for 2007. Rick has an excellent understanding of the technical aspects of the golf swing and is able to present them in simple, understandable terms to golfers of all abilities. His overall philosophy is to help each student develop the simplest, most effective golf swing for them.
