Shannon is a retired Military Police Officer who ended his Military career to pursue his passion for the game of golf. He graduated from the Golf Professional Training Program and obtained PGA Membership in 1998. Shannon has worked with some of the games greatest instructors over the years including Hank Haney. He has worked at numerous golf properties in Wisconsin, Arizona and California during his career, and has long had a passion for golf instruction and overall game improvement. He has attended several PGA Teaching Summits and Teaching Seminars over the past 20 years, and is always looking for ways to improve the quality of instruction he provides to his students.
In 2017 Preferred Golf Performance was created. Shannon has always believed that a golfers success and failures have been connected to a students physical strengths and limitations. Why would one student have success with taking lessons and the next student see little to no improvement? The answer lies in each individual's physical make up.
Shannon recently partnered with the Titleist Performance Institute to better understand the connection between a students physical attributes, and how they dictate a students ability to improve. He does not believe in one way to swing a club, rather in an infinite number of swing styles. Shannon believes there is one efficient way for every player to swing and it is based on what the player can physically do.
