Justin Norvell joined The Abaco Club on Winding Bay, a Ritz-Carlton Managed Club, on Oct, 1, 2007, as Director of Golf after six years in the golf hospitality industry across the United States. Born in Middletown, Ohio, he attended Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina, where he graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration and a B.S. in Marketing with concentrations in Golf and Resort Management. He started his career in 2001 at The Tournament Players Club at Rivers Bend in Maineville, Ohio where he completed an internship program that focused on Golf Operations. In 2002 he continued his career development in Kohler, Wisconsin at Blackwolf Run and Whistling Straits where he worked as a member of the Golf Shop staff. In 2003 he moved to Pebble Beach, California where he continued his career at Pebble Beach Golf Links as a member of the golf shop and golf service staff. He returned to Blackwolf Run and Whistling Straits in the summer of 2004 as an Assistant Golf Professional and Tournament Coordinator. In this role he was involved in the tournament operations and event planning for several tournaments and events, including the 2004 PGA Championship at Whistling Straits. In December, 2004, he moved to Miami, Florida, to become the Associate Golf Professional at the Doral Golf Resort and Spa. At Doral he was responsible for the development and launch of the 'Doral Online Golf Shopa and other key initiatives which led to Doral selection as one of the Top 100 Golf Shops in America for the first time in 18 years. One year later he accepted the position of Head Golf Professional at The Faldo Golf Institute by Marriott in Orlando, Florida. Here he managed the day-to-day operations which included a 9-hole golf course, a 35-acre practice facility and support for world-class golf instructional programs. Among his numerous achievements he is a PGA Class A Member and a member of PGA of America's Presidents Council on Growing the Game.
