Ted Elliot Head Professional and PGA Class A member since 2006. Finished PGM school in 2006 and won Acushnet Scholarship. Have a passion and strength in Junior Golf. Built from the ground up a junior golf program at Tchefuncta when he was an Assistant Pro. He now designates the whole month of June to promote and run a Junior Golf Camp consisting mostly of members' kids and the rest are their friends and juniors that he personally teaches that may not be members. During the last few years this golf camp has brought in new members to the facility who want their children to grow up around golf even though they as parents personally do not play. He started with 12 juniors in 2000 and now have over 140 juniors that he teaches in June. He does not stop there. After the golf camp in June he keeps their interest up by conducting free junior play days every Wednesday in July. Along with his staff, they go out and play as many holes as they can in two hours. At the end of July he hosts the Junior Club Championship over two days. This event is witnessed by the members and is run just the same as the Club Championship with an awards banquet following play on the second day. He also conducts a parent-child tournament which takes place in early August. This tournament is a great way to have members/parents see first hand the improvements and progress their son or daughter has made during the summer. The format and number of holes is based on the childs age and parents handicap. Junior golf is Ted's background and strength and he has had sucess with many juniors going on to play college and winning high school state championships. He plans on in the future enhancing his skills as a teacher by using more technology when he can afford it to one day build a learning center. Ted believes in Junior golf and that one day these kids will be future members of the club and truly grow the business.
