In 1992 Thomas got his start in the bag room and outside services at Chateau G&CC in Louisiana. A year went by and he was promoted to Golf Shop Assistant. After receiving a degree from San Diego State, he enrolled in the San Diego Golf Academy where he worked as an assistant part time at Twin Oaks Golf Course. From there Thomas moved to Blackhawk Country Club in Danville, where he completed his apprenticeship. After 2 years, named First Assistant at Blackhawk CC. In 2004, received the Acushnet PGA Scholarship and was named President to the Northern California Assistants Association after serving on the board for two years. In March of 2006 Thomas was named Head Golf Professional at Mira Vista Country Club.
