This par 3 shows how interesting a short hole can be. It's typical of Ross style of course routing. He liked his courses to play downhill to the par 3's and uphill to the par 4 and 5's. Ross did a masterful job of doing just that at Aronimink. The bunkers left, right, and center are viciously deep and the green has several difficult hole locations. Narrow terraces on the right and left side of the green make several visually challenging hole locations. The safe shot is to the middle of the green, but considering Aronimink offers so few birdie opportunities, a player may very well decide this is one of them.
