Winner of the 1968 U.S. Amateur... Member of 1969 Walker Cup and World Amateur Teams... Played on the PGA Tour 1972-1984, best finish, 2nd-1981 USF&G Classic and 1974 Quad Cities Open. Quit the Tour in 1985 to become a club professional in Florida, and surprised the golf world when in his first PGA Tour start in 1991 won the New England Classic in a seven-hole playoff over Ian Baker-Finch... Won 1989 PGA Club Professional and was a member of the 1990 PGA Cup Team. . .In his 1999 debut on the Champions Tour, earned Rookie of the Year honors after winning seven tournaments. He started his Senior PGA Tour career off by winning his first two events, the Royal Caribbean Classic and the American Express Invitational. |
