Started playing golf at the age of 10 when his parents took up the game. Before turning 50 he held jobs as a carpenter, bartender, designer, estimator, salesman and manager. In 2002, McDonald was a Monday qualifiers on the Champions tour. He and his wife Sharon have two children, Ryan and Cory. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family and read. . .McDonald played in 18 events on the PGA Tour in the mid-90s, only made three cuts best finish T53rd in the 1978 Tucson Open.
