Davis, who turned 50 in May 2001, has enjoyed an illustrious career in which he has won seven times in Europe and 20 international victories - 19 in his homeland circuit in Australia. . . One of Australia's finest players since the 1980s and has represented his country 15 times in world team competitions, including being part of the victorious 1986 Dunhill Cup and the 1990 Four-Tours World Championship. . . Easily recognized for wearing plus-four pants. . . Last year, Davis competed in 20 European Tour events, with a best finish of tying for third in the Novotel Perrier Open de France. . . Trained to be an accountant while he was one of Australia's top junior golfers. . . At one stage, Davis quit golf to start an ill-fated hotel venture. . . His biggest victories came in the 1986 Whyte and Mackay PGA Championship, where he defeated Des Smyth in a playoff and in the 1991 Volvo Masters.
