A left-handed player, he missed earning a Senior PGA Tour card by one stroke in 2000 Qualifying School. . .Quit college in 1972 after following Jim Colbert's march to victory in the 1972 Greater Milwaukee Open. . .Met Colbert personally in 1975 in Tampa, Fla., and became close friends and was soon coached by the Senior PGA Tour star. . .Served as a club professional, but was not a PGA of America member, from 1980 to 1991 at Baseline Golf Club in Ocala, Fla. During this period, also competed on the Ben Hogan Tour between 1990 & '91. In 25 Hogan starts finished in the top-ten once, 8th in 1990 Buffalo Open . . .Has attended PGA Tour Qualifying School 19 times and earned Tour playing card three times. Best finish in 81 PGA Tour events was a seventh-place performance in the 1980 B.C. Open, when he took a one-stroke lead going into the final eight holes. . .In 2001 traveled to Senior PGA Tour Monday qualifying events with his wife, Sandy, who has caddied for him the past 20 years.
