Since 1963, has worked for a liquor company. . .In 1984, began his own liquor company, and owned retail liquor stores in Orlando and Tampa where he also owns a mini-storage business of eight facilities. Long-time Florida State Golf Association player, has won every amateur tournaments in the last five years from state amateur, mid-amateur, match play to four-ball events... the FSGA Player-of-the-Year in 1996 and 2000. Also the 2000 Coleman Invitational Champion and four-time champion of the Invitational de Avila... qualified for PGA Tour's Tampa Bay Classic in 2001, but event was cancelled because of 9/11... earned a scholarship to University of South Florida in 70s, played two years and won Florida Intercollegiate in final season... turned professional after college for 6-month stint, went to Q-school in 1976 but did not make the tour, reinstated amateur in 1978... quit playing after failure at Q-school, only to take the game up again in late 1980s... married for twenty years... has two girls, Cathy, 18, and Cindy, 16... qualified for USGA mid-amateur in 1989, "opened door" to level of competitiveness, spirit which he thought he'd lost... .in 1990s, had good run, with qualifying for eight U.S. Amateur championships, seven mid-amateurs. Remembers especially the young Tiger Woods from those early championships... Has missed several opportunities by one shot - missed qualifying for Champions Tour by 1 shot in 2001... missed qualifying for this year's U.S. Open championship at Olympia Fields by 1 shot, playing out of Rockville, Md., shot 140... in 2002, made the cut in the Champions' Tour's MasterCard Championship in Mexico... .made the first stage of Open Qualifying at Innisbrook in Tampa, Rockville, Md., missed that by a shot, 140. Qualified for Senior Open at The Springhaven Club in Philadelphia.
