Tickets for 69th Senior PGA Championship on sale

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Officials from The PGA of America announced that tickets for the 69th Senior PGA Championship, May 19-25, at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y., will officially go on sale June 26, 2007. The legends of golf will converge upon Rochester for the first senior major championship of 2008.

Defending Champion Denis Watson, who captured a thrilling Championship at Kiawah Island, S.C. in May, will be joined by the strongest field in senior golf. That elite roster is anticipated to include players such as Tom Watson, Hale Irwin, Fuzzy Zoeller, Gary Player, Tom Kite, Raymond Floyd, Craig Stadler, Loren Roberts, Jay Haas, Peter Jacobsen, and Senior PGA Championship "rookies" Hal Sutton, Bernhard Langer, Sandy Lyle, Ian Woosnam and Rochester's own Jeff Sluman and Joey Sindelar.

The 156-player field, which this year included 37 players from 14 countries, and 20 major champions with a combined 51 major championships, will compete in 2008 for the coveted Alfred S. Bourne Trophy.

"Whenever you mention the name Oak Hill Country Club, it brings to mind some of the most significant major championships and most dramatic moments in American golf history," said PGA of America President Brian Whitcomb. "The PGA of America is extremely excited to bring the Senior PGA Championship to Oak Hill and to the wonderful golf-savvy fans of Greater Rochester. It is anticipated that the Senior PGA Championship will continue the electrifying atmosphere of the 1995 Ryder Cup and 2003 PGA Championship that Oak Hill has become known for."

A limited number of Daily Tickets for Practice Rounds and Competition Rounds, as well as Weekly Passes for the entire Championship go on sale today.

Each Clubhouse Ticket Package will give its holder the finest experience and access to the exciting Championship grounds at Oak Hill Country Club for all seven days of the event along with a once-in-a-lifetime experience and admission to the exquisite and illustrious Oak Hill clubhouse.

All tickets are inclusive of applicable taxes.
