Did not turn professional until he was 31 years old. . .Enjoyed a fabulous debut season on the PGA European Seniors Tour by winning the Tobago Plantations Seniors Classic and finishing second three times during 2005. . . Earned four additional Top-10 performances en route to fourth place on the Order of Merit. Played on the Champions Tour in 2003 but did not make an impression there and decided to join brother, Horacio, on the PGA European Seniors Tour in 2004, winning on two occasions, firstly in the Digicel Jamaica Classic, in association with Sony Ericsson, and secondly in the Bovis Lend Lease European Senior Masters in September. Beat Australian Terry Gale in a sudden-death play-off in Jamaica and showed great character in the latter tournament when he won despite the pressure of being paired with Scotland's Sam Torrance in the final group on Sunday. A regular on The European Tour between 1986 and 1991, his best year came in 1989 when he finished 66th on the Order of Merit, thanks to seventh place finishes in both the Lancia Italian Open and the Torras Monte Carlo Open. A lover of James Bond movies, proving that he has a ""golden eye"" of his own by making six career holes-in-one in competition. Earned fully-exempt status on the 2003 Champions Tour after T5 at the National Qualifying Tournament in the fall. Played steady golf for 72 holes at World Woods GC and finished at 9-under 279, tied with David Eger, Dave Barr and Mark Pfeil...Advanced to the finals by virtue of a T6 performance (1-under 287) at the Champions Tour regional qualifier at Metrowest CC in Orlando, Fla.. . . Trailed his brother on the Order of Merit after finishing the season three places behind his elder sibling in 10th place. Amassed six Top-10s with his best performances being a runner-up finish behind Sam Torrance at the PGA Seniors Championship and third place at the Arcapita Seniors Tour Championship. Won his third title in 2005 at the Tobago Plantations Seniors Classic, a result which helped him to a career high of fourth on the Order of Merit.
