Player Notes
After several narrow misses, eventually captured his maiden title at the start of his sixth season on the Senior Tour with victory in the first event of 2010, the inaugural Mauritius Commercial Bank Open, finishing one stroke clear of former Ryder Cup player Gordon J Brand. That capped a remarkable turnaround after only gaining his 2009 card via the Qualifying School and finishing 31st on the Order of Merit. Prior to Mauritius he missed out on a maiden victory at the 2007 AIB Irish Seniors Open, when he finished runner up to Costantino Rocca, and the European Senior Masters at Woburn in 2006 when he led going into the final round before finishing third behind two former Ryder Cup Captains, Sam Torrance and the winner, Mark James. Became a professional golfer in 1974 after growing up heavily involved in football. His late father, Keith, was the manager of Ajax in the early 1960s and Kevin used to have childhood kickabouts with a young Johan Cruyff. Competed in the PGA Championship at Wentworth Club on six occasions between 1985 and 2001, while another highlight of his career was finishing joint 14th in The 2001 Celtic Manor Resort Wales Open on The European Tour. Registered a hole-in-one in each of his first two seasons on the Senior circuit.
