Making a pledge

In conjunction with the Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid, the PGA Foundation has pledged $300,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Benton Harbor. The Golf Club at Harbor Shores in Michigan will host the 2012 Senior PGA Championship.

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- The PGA Foundation, as part of a $300,000 commitment over four years, will donate $75,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Benton Harbor, in conjunction with the 73rd Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid. This major championship makes its first visit to the state of Michigan, May 24-27, 2012, at The Golf Club at Harbor Shores.

The donation will help support construction of the new facilities for the Boys & Girls Club and its golf program partner, The First Tee of Benton Harbor, which celebrates its dedication on Sept. 7.

The Senior PGA Championship began in 1937 at Augusta National Golf Club at the invitation of Bobby Jones and has since featured the games legendary stars that have reached the age of 50. Mark Calcavecchia, Fred Couples, Ben Crenshaw, Jay Haas, Hale Irwin, Tom Kite, Bernhard Langer, Tom Lehman, Mark O'Meara, Corey Pavin, Nick Price, and Tom Watson are among the 156 players eligible to compete for the coveted Alfred S. Bourne Trophy next year at The Golf Club at Harbor Shores. The Championship will feature 12 hours of live television coverage on NBC and Golf Channel, with viewership in more than 130 countries and territories worldwide.
