All players competing in the 2012 Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid will be vying for the coveted Alfred S. Bourne Trophy. (The PGA of America)

1) Former Senior PGA Champions

2) Former PGA Champions

3) Former Masters Champions

4) Former U.S. Open Champions

5) Former British Open Champions

6) Former U.S. Ryder Cup Team members

7) The low 15 scorers and ties in the 2011 Senior PGA Championship

8) Top 50 money winners on the 2011 Champions Tour

9) Top 50 money leaders from the 2012 Champions Tour Money List as of May 7, 2012

10) All “Official” Champions Tour Tournament winners from the 2011 Senior PGA Championship to the 2012 Senior PGA Championship

11) Top 35 finishers from the 2011 Senior PGA Professional National Championship

12) Winners of the last five U.S. Senior Opens (2007-2011)

13) Winner of the last played Senior British Open (2011)

14) Winner of the 2011 DeVere Collection PGA Seniors’ Championship

15) Top eighteen players from the 2011 European Senior Tour Order of Merit

16) Top two players from the 2012 European Senior Tour Order of Merit not otherwise exempt provided they are in the top 20 of such Order of Merit as of May 14, 2012

17) Top four players from the 2011 Japanese Senior Tour Order of Merit

18) Winners of Official PGA Tour, JPGA Tour, and European Tour events in the preceding five calendar years (2007-2011) and during the current year up to the Senior PGA Championship – for 50-year-olds only (a one-time exemption)

19) Top 30 from the Champions Tour Career Money Leaders List as of May 7, 2012

20) Top 30 from the All-Time Career Money List as of May 7, 2012

21) Any former PGA Professional National Championship champion turning 50 between the 2011 Senior PGA Championship and the 2012 Senior PGA Championship (a one-time exemption)

22) In addition, the PGA reserves the right to invite additional players not included in the categories listed above

The total field will be a maximum of 156 players. Openings caused by the withdrawal or non-entry of any of the 35 club professionals will be filled exclusively from an alternate list determined at the 2011 Senior PGA National Professional Championship. All other openings in the field will be filled, in order, off of the 2012 Champions Tour money list through May 7, 2012, through position 99. If, and when, the next opening occurs, position 100 and forward will be filled by alternating between the 2011 Senior PGA Professional National Championship Alternate List and the 2012 Champions Tour Money List.
