Player Notes

Winner of the Australian Open in 1983 and then a runner-up on The European Tour no fewer than six times between 1984 and 1992 before finally making his winning breakthrough in capturing the 1993 BMW International Open in Munich. Individual and Team winner of the World Cup in 1989 when partnering Wayne Grady for Australia. But after his success in 1993 he struggled to find the same form and went back to the Qualifying School – Final Stage four times, successfully graduating in 1999 and 2001 to regain his European Tour card. Began to show some of his old form in 2002, finishing 63rd on the Order of Merit. Improved on that performance in 2003, finishing 45th, helped by three top ten finishes in his first six starts. Slipped to 73rd in 2004 and 110th in 2005. Lost his card at the end of 2006 but bounced back via the 2007 Challenge Tour Rankings, taking the 18th card.
