Bolsters the strong Spanish contingent on the European Senior Tour when he turns 50 in May 2012. A three-time winner on The European Tour, became the first continental player to reach the notable milestone of 500 events on The European Tour when he teed off in the 2005 Deutsche Bank Players’ Championship of Europe. Self-taught player who emerged from the caddie ranks in
Madrid. Graduated from Qualifying School in 1983 and had his breakthrough victory in the Open de France in 1992. Had to wait another five years for his second victory in the Heineken Classic in Perth, Australia. Claimed his third European Tour title in 1999, edging out Welshman David Park at the sixth hole of sudden-death in the Moroccan Open. With Santiago Luna helped Spain to 2nd place in the World Cup in Malaysia that same season. Once scored a 59 in tournament play, the 1987 South Argentine Open.
Made his over 50 first start last week on the European Senior Tour finishing 34th at the Mallorca Open senior.
