Purchase tickets to the 2013 Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid and also be among the first to have the opportunity to purchase tickets to the 100th PGA Championship in 2018, which will also be played at Bellerive Country Club.
ST. LOUIS -- PGA of America officials announced that tickets are now on sale for the 74th Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid, which will be contested May 21-26, 2013, at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis. This is the first time Bellerive has hosted the Senior PGA Championship, the most historic and prestigious event in senior golf.
"Given the terrific response we received from the St. Louis community on corporate hospitality purchases, we expect an equally strong demand for tickets when they go on sale to the general public this week," said General Chairman Bob Cox. "Beyond the opportunity to see some of the world's best senior golfers here in St. Louis this May, ticket purchasers will have the added value of priority to purchase tickets for the Centennial PGA Championship when golf comes to Bellerive in 2018. Championship golf in St. Louis is back and now is the best time to act -- prior to the holiday rush."
Cox also says demand for tickets has risen due to the fact that Bellerive has a history of hosting major championships. With the 2013 Senior PGA Championship, Bellerive will become only the third club in the United States to host all four traveling men's professional major championships: PGA Championship (1992), Senior PGA Championship (2013), U.S. Open (1965) and the U.S. Senior Open (2004).
There are a variety of ticket options and packages. Ticket prices range from $15 for a Tuesday Daily Grounds ticket to $300 for a Weeklong Clubhouse ticket. Additionally, ticket purchasers will also be given the first opportunity to buy tickets for the Centennial PGA Championship -- one of golf's most anticipated major championships -- which also will take place at Bellerive in August 2018.
Ticket purchasers should expect to see past Senior PGA champions Hale Irwin (1996, '97, '98, 2004), Tom Watson (2001, '11), Jay Haas (2006, '08) and Tom Lehman (2010); senior rookies Vijay Singh, Rocco Mediate and Steve Elkington; fan-favorite Fred Couples; and defending champion Roger Chapman compete for the famed Alfred S. Bourne Trophy.
