It's not often that the general public can receive golf instruction -- free of charge -- from some of the best PGA Professionals in the business.
However, on Wed., Dec. 3, at the PGA Learning Center in Port St. Lucie, Fla., that precise opportunity will be available to all visitors, as the PGA of America will be hosting Play Golf America Day as part of the 11th PGA Teaching & Coaching Summit.
Between 10 a.m.-6 p.m., PGA Professionals will volunteer their time to provide free 10-minute lessons at the event that kicks off the biennial PGA Teaching & Coaching Summit.
As is the case with all Play Golf America Days, attendees at the PGA Learning Center on Dec. 3 will be able to participate in clinics, skills challenges and contests and demo the newest technology from a variety of leading golf manufacturers.
Play Golf America Day was one of the most memorable events from the highly successful 2006 PGA Teaching & Coaching Summit.
The 2006 event marked the first time the public was invited to attend a function at the Summit. This allowed golfers from all ages and abilities to talk with 40 representatives from Callaway Golf and test some of Callaway Golf's newest equipment, including the FT1 and FT5 Fusion drivers and the Big Bertha 460 Titanium driver, which were all unveiled at Play Golf America Day.
A whopping 850 people turned out for Play Golf America Day in 2006. Along with testing out the latest equipment, attendees also received instruction from 75 PGA Professionals volunteering throughout the day.
Along with all the Play Golf America Day festivities, the PGA Trade-In Network will also be on hand, allowing golfers to get a fair value for their used clubs. The PGA Trade-In Network utilizes the PGA.com Value Guide to determine a fair-market value for used clubs, then the PGA Trade-In Network facilitates the trade-in toward the purchase of new golf clubs or other merchandise.
