I am a 5 handicap golfer with a big problem. My shortgame is totally underdevelopped compared to my long game. In fact, Its quite terrible for someone of my caliber despite the 5-6 hours per week that i devote to practice the short game. 80% of my ractice time actually.

My question involves the motion most typical used to start the downswing for good players. I have read/heard that some players start the downswing with the right knee moving toward the ball, others start with a shift of weight to the left foot, Others start with a hip rotation.

I switched to the stack and tilt swing. Works great for me. Can I use it with the driver? Can't seem to find a good ball position. My iron shots are great. Thank you.

I've started hitting my wedges fat. Short shots, full shots -fat! I've tried a check list of diagnostics: tried flattening my swing, steepening by swing, weight foreward, head still, quiet lower body, active lower bory, shoulder turn, less active hands- still fat.

I'm a 14 year old golfer. I play everyday that I can, so I am pretty accustomed to my tendencies. With almost every club (even my three wood), I take a rather large divot.

All of my clubs are custom fit. I love my 54 degree wedge but constantly chunk my 58 degree 20 yards or scull it 150 yards. I don't know how to hit it. Please help. Where do I place the ball in my stance and how do I stop mishitting this club?

My question is on transition from the top. Periodically I tend to rotate my back shoulder out and as a result end up with my hands away from my body and a SHANK. Do you have any ideas for a swing thought or a first move to better manage that transition from the top?

I have been concentrating on my downswing to think about slapping the ball with my right hand at impact. But I have been losing distance and hooking the ball. Should I be thinking more about hitting the ball with more of my left hand at impact on my woods and irons.

What is a good tip to help create lag in the downswing? I have been casting the club for so long that it is very hard to stop. A tip that does not require hitting balls at the range would be ideal since I live in Canada.

On the back swing, I do not turn my left arm over my right as I see some do. Dosen't that create more parts to move on the downwing?

For some reason when I swing my 3 wood the swing speed is about 10 mph faster than when I swing my driver. I feel like I am making the same swings, but something is causing the decrease in clubhead speed. Any explaination as to why this might be happening?

For many years I've been affected by a bowed left wrist at the top of my backswing, getting worse during the transition. Can you please explain to me which could have been the origin and what would be the cure for that problem?

My questions concerns clubhead lag during the downswing. Remember Calvin Peete and how his left arm could not be fully extended? Yet he was considered to be one of the more accurate hitters on tour. My left arm is similar to Calvin's. Left arm extension being limited to 120 degrees.

Hello, I'm a single figure player who has been trying desperately to get over the dreaded 'yips' for ~5 years now. I've been playing golf for roughly 15 years, I'm now 26yrs old and have previously played state level golf at a very young age.

I can not (do not) turn my hands over at impact. The result is always a HUGE banana slice. Any drills that will teach me how and when to turn the hands?

Is the shoulder turn on the backswing the same amount regardless of the length of the club, or do you turn less the shorter the club? Related question: Is the arm swing shorter with shorter clubs?
