Lesson Learned

One of things that makes golf such an interesting and challenging game are the changing conditions during a round. Because it's an outdoor sport, golf is affected by weather: wind and precipitation. But light -- or the lack thereof -- can be just as challenging to a top golfer.

A Lesson Learned: Commit to the shot
First and foremost, "Congratulations to Webb Simpson!" Simpson has been one of the most consistent and dedicated players in golf over the last year, he is a deserving and worthy champion of the U.S. Open. I expect we'll see more major championship victories in his future.

A Lesson Learned: When you need a birdie, find the fairway
What a great finish to a great tournament in Memphis! Congratulations to Dustin Johnson, what a way to comeback from his injury. His ball-striking and touch around the greens showed that he is not only fully recovered, but has to be among the favorites for next week's U.S. Open.

As expected, the Zurich Classic of New Orleans provided great golf, great drama and a great finish. For the second straight year, the tournament went to a playoff and golf fans enjoyed some extra holes to determine a champion. And a worthy one was certainly crowned.
