MILTON, Ga. -- Showing again it's more than just a football school, Alabama won its first national championship in men's golf on Sunday, routing Illinois 4-1 in the match play final and making up for a runner-up finish last year.

PGA Champion Keegan Bradley and Brendan Steele shot a 10-under 62 in better-ball play Saturday to take a one-stroke lead over Mark Calcavecchia and Nick Price in the Franklin Templeton Shootout.
Bradley and Steele had a 19-under 125 total at Tiburon Golf Club.
