The 93rd PGA Championship is accepting volunteer applications for anyone wanting to be part of the 93rd PGA Championship, Aug. 8–14, 2011, at the Atlanta Athletic Club. The PGA of America anticipates the number of people registering to serve in behind-the-scenes roles at the 2011 Championship to be high due to the strong spirit of volunteerism and support for the game of golf in Georgia and the surrounding region. “Volunteers are the lifeblood of any successful Championship and we are very excited about welcoming golf enthusiasts of all skill level and interests,” said 93rd PGA Championship Director Ryan Cannon. The PGA of America typically works with a volunteer base of nearly 3,500 to conduct the PGA Championship. Among the many committees with positions available are Transportation, Scoring, Media Center, Leader Boards, and Merchandise Golf Shop. To register as a volunteer for the 93rd PGA Championship or to get committee descriptions, visit www.pga2011.com. Volunteer committees are filled on a first come, first served basis. The 93rd PGA Championship will conduct a Media Day and ticket launch, July 26, at the Atlanta Athletic Club.
