Topgolf
Topgolf has become the premiere destination for people looking to play golf and have fun. With more than 50 destinations across the United States, Topgolf has become the go-to choice for those who love golf, with a spin. Imagine a driving range, but one amplified with three levels of hitting bays, each with their own place to sit, eat and watch television. Golfers aim for targets and rack up points through a variety of different games in which friends and families can compete. It’s a perfect location both children and adults of all ages to celebrate birthdays, host a work party, bachelor or bachelorette party.
PopStroke
While PopStroke only has one location in 2019, the announcement of their new partnership with Tiger Woods is sure to lead to an explosion of locations nationwide. Instead of the hitting bays you’ll find at Topgolf, PopStroke is all about putting. The entertainment complex features two, 18-hole courses and like Topgolf, also awards points. They offer a full food and beverage menu and offer a variety of children’s birthday packages on their website.
Destination Celebration
Golf enthusiasts looking to commemorate some of life’s larger milestones should consider a destination trip to Scotland, the home of golf. While St Andrews is often the first place that comes to mind when considering a trip to Scotland, there are dozens of premiere courses scattered across the country to play.
Gleneagles, which hosted both the 2014 Ryder Cup and 2019 Solheim Cup, is home to not only three championship golf courses but also the PGA National Academy, as well as a variety of other activities.
“There really is something for everyone from a golf perspective,” said Andrew Jowett, the Head PGA Golf Professional at Gleneagles. “Gleneagles really is a glorious playground – you’ll certainly have plenty of choice, whether you want to relax and unwind or have an action-packed sporting adventure.”
The estate features more than 50 activities from golf, to fishing, to falconry. The estate also offers clay target shooting, horseback riding and an award-winning Spa. There are also a variety of activities for children to enjoy, including the nine-hole ‘Wee Course’ and Pitch and Putt Course.
“Our team of ten PGA professionals throughout the resort are experts in making sure our younger guests can have as much fun as possible while both out on the course and on the range,” said Jowett. “Like all activities throughout the estate, you’ll tend to find that there is a children’s version tailored just for them.”
Gleneagles is a short one-hour drive from the Edinburg and Glasgow airports, and its central location in Scotland makes it the ideal jumping off point from which to begin a golfing adventure.
“There’s so much to explore and Gleneagles is such a great base from which to venture,” said Jowett. “And yet one of our strongest assets remains our location with us being only an hour away from the likes of St Andrews and Carnoustie, as well as being the gateway to Highlands, which can provide routes to the north and some fantastic courses such as Castle Stuart, Royal Aberdeen, Royal Dornoch as well as numerous hidden gems.”
