Cherry Creek CC Junior League 2026

PGA Junior League Golf is a fun, social and inclusive opportunity for boys and girls ages 7 to 13 to learn and enjoy the game of golf. Much like other recreational league sports, participants wear numbered jerseys and play on teams with their friends. Navy jerseys will be for HOME matches, Teal Jerseys will be for AWAY matches • Each team is captained by a PGA or LPGA Professional, who serves as the captain/coach and is at the forefront of creating a welcoming environment for all to enjoy the game. PGA Junior League Golf utilizes a popular scramble format that creates a nurturing environment for learning and development - both on and off the course. • Please reach out to coach Tim Radomicki for more information regarding Cherry Creek Country Club’s Junior League Team. Each team is broken down into two-person pairs (may be three or four if substitutes are included) who play together in games. The players that are not currently playing in a flag, should follow along with the active players and help read putts, pick up balls that won’t be selected and cheer the players on. All PGA Jr. League games are played in a two-person scramble format. This means that both players in a pair hit drives. The best shot is selected, then each player plays from the selected spot, and this process continues until the ball is holed. The scramble format is key in allowing everyone to hit shots and contribute to the team. PGA Jr. League utilizes match play scoring, which focuses on performance vs. a score-to-par as is traditional with golf. Within a PGA Jr. League game, pairs play in a head-to-head, 9-hole match. Each match is broken into three flags. Each flag is three holes in a row, and each team has the opportunity to earn points at the end of each flag. The tee boxes will be positioned between 200 and 250 yards out on Par 4s and Par 5s during our home matches at Cherry Creek. I can’t guarantee how long the holes will be during our away matches as it is up to the host facility to create the tee boxes for each match.

2026 Springhill PGA Junior League

The program will consist of six competitive matches held on Mondays beginning in June, with no match scheduled over the July 4th holiday. In addition to matches, the program includes eight one-hour practices on Thursday evenings from 5:00–6:00 PM starting in May. These practices will be structured to focus on developing sound swing fundamentals, improving short-game technique, and introducing age-appropriate course management strategies to help players learn how to think their way around the golf course. All participants ages 10 and older will have the opportunity to be evaluated for selection to the League All-Star Team. Players chosen for the All-Star Team will represent our program in a postseason event, competing against other league All-Star teams. This gives players a great goal to work toward while gaining valuable match experience, building confidence on the course, and continuing to grow their skills in a fun, supportive, and team-oriented environment.

Little Birdies (9U)

This popular program, created specifically for 5-7 year old players interested in a PGA Jr League experience, sold out in 2023, 2024, and 2025! Chloe Graham will be back again as the primary facilitator of Little Birdies, with help from the Raccoon Creek pros and several older former Raccoon Creek PGA Jr. League players. Prior golf experience is not required. We can provide clubs for the first two clinics, but players will need their own clubs to use for the on-course sessions. This includes being able to carry their own clubs or having their parents acting as a "caddie" for on course sessions. Little Birdies incorporates many fun features of Raccoon Creek’s award-winning PGA Jr League programming utilizing elements of the American Development Model, endorsed by the PGA of America to offer a PGA Jr League golf introduction with appropriate subject matter, skill development, time, and course length for players in this age group. We will focus on learning to play the game safely while in a fun manner. The concept of team play, PGA Jr League rules and etiquette will be introduced and reinforced throughout the program. Parental involvement is necessary and required due to the age and typical maturity level of players in this age group. When we are on the course, these players are typically not able to carry their clubs and bag on their own. Having a parent or guardian available during on-course practices and golf events to assist as a “caddie” and be available for familiar support, encouragement, and safety will be required. Junior Golfers in this age group display a wide variety of self-sufficiency and confidence in new situations. We will work with you to create the best experience for your player!

13U Recreational League

Our goal is to provide an opportunity for your players to dive deeper into golf and spark a life-time enjoyment for the game in a popular program that focuses on fun, inclusion, player development, camaraderie, and teamwork. Critical traits necessary in prospective PGA Jr League players include a positive attitude, ability to follow safety and game rules, accept coaching, be willing to make new friends, and partner with a variety of players. A popular aspect of Jr League is the opportunity to play a on team with friends and/or siblings and we accommodate such requests when possible. Players should have their own clubs to participate in the program at Raccoon Creek. Chloe Graham will be back again as the primary facilitator of PGA Junior League, with help from the Raccoon Creek pros John Houlihan and Travis Morton and several other experienced coaches. Our program is a three-time recipient of the PGA Junior League #GameChanger Award as the top Colorado program years 2022, 2023, and 2024. Raccoon Creek PGA Jr League incorporates clinics, on-course practice sessions, matches, a season kickoff pizza party and a popular season-ending Fun Day. The 13U Recreational Team will have clinics on Friday evenings from 4-5pm and matches will be on Saturday evenings. New for 2025, we found that 6-hole matches were more fun and appropriate in terms of challenge and time commitment for this ability and interest level, we will continue to engage in 6-hole matches for this group. In 2026, we are again offering a Competitive 13u program for players seeking a more competition-focused environment. Players interested in that program will need to have permission from our programming team to gain access to that program via an assigned registration code. The Hiwan/PGA Junior Golf 9U program is a season-long competitive golf experience designed for junior golfers ages 7-9 years old who want to play, compete, and improve in a fun, structured, and motivating environment. Players are placed in groups teams based on age and ability for scheduling for scheduling purposes. The 9U league competitions will all be held at Hiwan Golf Club.

The PGA of America, in partnership PGA Certified Golf Professional, John Trujillo (“Coach John”), is offering an exciting opportunity for junior golfers, ages 14-17, with beginner, intermediate, and advanced level golf experience. This unique “team golf” experience is designed to prepare boys and girls for individual tournament golf, tryouts for their high school/middle school golf team, and PGA Jr. League Team Golf participation.

This is a program for intermediate level golfers ages 7 to 13 years of age. Weekly training sessions on Saturdays (9:30-11:00) and weekly playing sessions on Tuesdays (5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.)
