The Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals will again be held at Augusta National Golf Club ahead of the Masters Tournament. Here's everything you need to know about the event.
What is Drive, Chip and Putt?
A joint initiative founded in 2013 by the Masters Tournament, United States Golf Association and The PGA of America, Drive, Chip and Putt is a free nationwide junior golf development competition aimed at growing the game by focusing on the three fundamental skills employed in golf.
How the finalists got to Augusta
Top performers at the local level advanced through subregional and regional qualifiers in July/August and September/October, respectively, at several of the nation’s most acclaimed venues and championship sites. From these qualifiers, 80 finalists — 40 boys and 40 girls — earned an invitation to compete in the National Finals at Augusta National Golf Club.

Finals format and scoring
There will be 10 finalists in the boys division and 10 finalists in the girls division in each of the four age groups, for a total of 80 participants. For each type of shot, a player will earn points for where they finish in their group — 10 points for 1st, 1 point for 10th — for a maximum of 30 points.
- Drive: Each player will have two drives to record his or her longer distance drive that remains in bounds.
- Chip: Each player will hit two chips and his or her cumulative distance from the hole will be recorded.
- Putt: Each player will attempt two putts of varying distances and will record his or her cumulative distance from each hole.
In the event of a tie for first place, a playoff shot will determine the winner. In all other ties, the points will be combined and split.
