Masters 2018: Rory McIlroy holes eagle chip to grab share of lead

The Masters marks the first of three majors this year where we have a chance to see a player complete a career grand slam.

That player? Rory McIlroy, who is just a Masters win shy from becoming the sixth player in the modern era to win all four majors in a career.

And in Saturday's third round at Augusta National, the Ulsterman looks more determined than ever to see that that happens.

McIlroy has been on fire all day and drove that home with this unbelievable eagle chip-in on the par-5 eighth hole to get to 5 under for the day and join Patrick Reed in a share of the lead at 9 under.

On the fourth hole -- the most difficult par-3 on the course -- Rory holed a long birdie putt.

He got away with a shot on No. 5 that hit the lip of a fairway bunker, but still found its way to the green, settling some 25 feet from the hole. He two-putted for par there.

Then on the par-3 sixth, Rory came within 2 feet of an ace.

To win a major, players need some magical things to happen.

No one looks more magical than McIlroy today.
