PGA HOPE Porter - Session 4

PGA HOPE is the flagship military program of the PGA of America. PGA HOPE is designed to introduce golf to Veterans and Active Duty Military to support their social, emotional, and physical well being. Join PGA HOPE alongside your fellow Veterans and Servicemembers. PGA HOPE has served thousands of Veterans and Servicemembers across the United States through one of our 300+ locations. This introductory program is designed to welcome those of all ages, branches and eras of service, genders, and abilities to the golf course and share in camaraderie and fun together as a group. During this session you will learn the basics from grip to 9 holes of golf from PGA and LPGA Professionals. Please note that Veterans and Active-Duty Military members may not participate in multiple PGA HOPE Southern Texas sessions. Once an individual has graduated from a PGA HOPE Southern Texas program, they are no longer eligible to enroll in additional sessions Any graduate who attempts to enroll in another session will be automatically removed from the session roster. No golf equipment is required. If you do have clubs and/or any specialty equipment, please bring them with you. No prior golf experience necessary No VA disability rating required Veterans do not have to have combat or deployments in order to participate All expenses associated with PGA HOPE are covered Any questions? Our Junior Golf Clinic introduces young golfers to the game in a fun, positive, and encouraging environment. Each session focuses on building strong fundamentals—including grip, setup, putting, chipping, and full-swing skills—through games, challenges, and age-appropriate instruction. The goal is to help juniors develop confidence, athletic ability, and a lasting love for golf.

GOLF 101

Golf 101 is a 5 week class deisgned specifially to introduce new players to the game of golf. Our golf 101 class will guide you through a natural progression of learning the different swings. We start with the basics of putting, move on to chipping, and use those skills to develop your full swing. The class is open to anyone over the age of 18, children under 18 must have a parent taking the class as well.

Private Instruction

Club Fitting Callaway or PING

In the club fitting we will discuss your handicap and playing level as well as the club models you are desiring to play. We will use a swing permorance monitor to assist in providing swing and club peformance to help fit you for the optimum club fit for your game. We have a great system for ensuring you get fit for the right equipment. We offer a full iron cart for Ping Fittings and offer full fitting quipment for all Callaway clubs currently in line. This includes Putters, Wedges, Irons, Hybrids, Drivers, and Woods.

Swing Evaluation

In the swing evaluation we will discuss the areas of your swing or golf game that you would like to see improve. In the lesson we will focus on a few changes that will help you achieve your desired goal. Following the lesson we will overview what we have worked on and I will leave you with a practice schedule and or drills to work on.
