WATCH: Elk calf chases Swedish golfer at Karlstad Golf Club

Here at PGA.com we try to prepare the average golfer for any all situations he or she may encounter while enjoying the game we all love. That means instruction pieces, equipment reviews and, yes, of course, animal encounters.

Snakes, bears and mongeese (mongooses?) are all things we've come to expect to find on the golf course thanks to our friends sharing their wildlife experiences on the internet.

The latest golf course animal encounter comes to us courtesy of Sweden's Christer Sjogren, who came across a young elk while trying out his new irons at Karlstad Golf Club.

According to Stockholm newspaper Aftonbladet, Sjogren initially tried to hide from the curious critter, but after the calf continued to follow him, Sjogren ran to try to get the elk off his trail.

Sjogren reached his friends, and the elk left the group alone.

At least, he succeeded in getting the calf away from his clubs.
